Peasant Soup "Zatiruha"

Peasant Soup "Zatiruha" - фото рецепта
This soup is similar to everyone's familiar chicken noodle soup, except the noodles are made quite differently here... (I wonder what Italians would say about this?) The method of making them is very simple, get the kids involved, they will definitely enjoy this process. Although, you will have to clean the kids and the kitchen thoroughly afterwards, but it's a small price to pay compared to their adorable smiles from knowing they made something themselves.
Chicken Meat
1.3-1.8 lbs
Egg
1 pc.
Flour
1 cup
Potatoes
3-4 pcs.
Carrot
1 pc.
Onion
1 pc.
Bay Leaf
2-3 leaves
Allspice
5-6 peppercorns (other spices to taste)
Salt
to taste
Parsley
To prepare Peasant Soup «Zatiruha», first let's cook the broth. Pour pieces of meat with water (10-12 cups), when it starts to boil, remove the foam. Then add salt, spices, and simmer over medium heat.
Dice the potatoes and add them to the pot half an hour after the chicken starts boiling.
Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot using a medium grater, and add them after the potatoes.
Now let's prepare the "noodles" for the peasant soup "Zatiruha". Mix an egg with water (3 tbsp.), add a pinch of salt. Dip your clean washed hands into the mixture.
Next, coat your hands with flour.
Then rub your palms together, i.e. clean your hands from the sticking flour. This is how you get "zatiruha". Repeat this process until the egg mixture is finished.
Sift the "zatiruha" to remove excess flour.
Add the "zatiruha" to the boiling soup, stir, and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium heat.
Add herbs and turn off the heat. Peasant Soup "Zatiruha" is ready! Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
