Essentially, meat rolls are the same as meatballs, just with a filling. In this recipe, I use ground beef, but you can also use pork or chicken. There are many variations of this dish, rolls can be not only meat-based, but also potato-based with various fillings. I suggest making hearty and delicious meat rolls with cheese and mushrooms.

1.7 cups (white)

To prepare meat rolls with mushrooms and cheese, add finely chopped onion (1 pc) to the minced meat. Also add the pulp of white bread soaked in milk. Add a little salt, pepper, and mix the minced meat well.
The meatball itself should not be too salty or spicy, this task is performed by the filling.
Prepare the filling for the meat rolls with mushrooms and cheese. Finely chop the mushrooms and fry them in a pan until partially cooked.
It is best to use champignon mushrooms; if using forest mushrooms, they should be pre-boiled.
Transfer the mushrooms to a separate bowl, and in the same pan, sauté the remaining finely chopped onion.
Combine the onion with the mushrooms and add grated hard cheese. Mix everything well - the filling is ready!
With moist hands, take a portion of the minced meat, form small cakes, place the filling in the center (the amount of filling depends on the size of the cake). Fold them like pouches.
Generously coat them in breadcrumbs and fry in a well-heated pan until golden brown.
Rolls fry faster than meatballs because the meat layer is thinner.
Serve meat rolls with mushrooms and cheese hot, with a salad of fresh vegetables.
