Corn grits are not very popular in Ukraine, but they are so healthy. They contain vitamins B, E, A, PP, as well as minerals such as iron and silicon. They have a high content of natural fiber, are low-allergenic, and low in calories. Try making cheese patties using this recipe, you and your kids will love them for sure.
Corn Grits
1 cup
Eggs
2 pcs.
Cheese
5 tbsp (Parmesan or any hard cheese)
Salt
Black Pepper
to taste
Processed Cheese
3.5 oz
Bread Crumbs
Butter
clarified, for frying
To prepare corn cheese patties, first, cook corn porridge and let it cool down.
To cook corn porridge, use water three times more than the amount of grits. Add grits to boiling salted water and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring constantly. Then cover with a lid and cook on low heat until ready (15-20 minutes).
Add eggs, grated hard cheese, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the porridge.
Cut processed cheese into cubes - this will be the filling. Take small portions of the corn mixture, flatten each one, place a piece of processed cheese in the center, and form a patty.
Coat each patty in bread crumbs and fry in clarified butter until golden brown.
Serve corn cheese patties with a side salad of fresh vegetables.
